Common questions
Why does paving sink or move?
Nearly always a poor base — not enough excavation, not enough compaction, or no edge restraint. We build the base first and build it properly.
Can you pave over existing concrete?
Sometimes, if the slab is sound and the levels work with door thresholds. We'll check on site and tell you straight if it's a good idea.
What paving handles Canberra frosts best?
Most quality pavers and stone handle frost well when laid on a well-drained base. Water sitting in or under paving is the real enemy in freeze-thaw conditions.
Do you do gravel paths as well as pavers?
Yes — decorative gravel and crushed granite paths are a great-value option, and we lay them with proper edging and a compacted base so they don't wash out.
